Rules

Bracket Style: This gaming competition follows a single-elimination format with 4-player free-for-all groups. The top 2 players from each group will advance to the next round. Progression: Round 1 consists of 16 groups of 4 players (64 total) with 32 advancing. Round 2 features 8 groups of 4, leading to 16 advancing. Round 3 includes 4 groups of 4, resulting in 8 advancing. The Quarterfinals consist of 2 groups of 4, allowing 4 to advance. The Semifinals and Finals are conducted as 4-player matches, with the final determining placements from 1st to 4th place.  Mode: The N64 tournament will utilize Versus Mode (4-player) at 150cc speed. Items: Normal items are enabled, so players can embrace the chaos! Teams: Off. Races per Match: There will be 3-4 races, utilizing tracks from a predefined cup or through random selection (with no repeats in a match). Cup Progression: Round 1 will feature the Mushroom Cup (3 tracks), followed by Round 2 with the Flower Cup, Round 3 with the Star Cup, and the Finals will conclude with the Special Cup. Characters: All characters are available (Mario, Luigi, etc.). The selection order is determined by a random draw (1-4); #1 picks first, and #4 picks last, with no changes allowed mid-match. Duplicates: Allowed, but if there's a dispute, a coin flip will decide priority. Controllers: The standard N64 Tournament will provide controllers. If there is a tie for advancement or placement, a single 150cc Versus race on Luigi Raceway will determine the outcome. Prohibited Actions (Glitches and Cheats): No glitches are allowed. Banned techniques include lap-skipping (e.g., Wario Stadium wall jump, Rainbow Road jump, Frappe Snowland spin), while fair shortcuts like the Koopa Troopa Beach jump are acceptable. Penalties for using a glitch will result in forfeiting the race, and repeated offenses may lead to disqualification. Pausing during a race is not allowed unless there is a verified technical issue by the organizer. Any disputes regarding rules will be handled by the tournament organizer (TO), whose decision is final. Conduct and Sportsmanship: Positive vibes only are encouraged in this gaming competition. While trash talk can be fun, harassment, toxicity, or unsportsmanlike conduct is strictly prohibited, leading to warnings and potential disqualification. In cases of technical issues, if there is a disconnect or crash (online/offline), if the incident occurs early in the race, the race will restart; otherwise, points will stand. Spectating is allowed, but no coaching is permitted mid-match. Disqualifications will occur for cheating, no-shows, or rule breaks, with refunds available up to 3 days prior to the event.
